Almost everyone who loves the water has a someday boat. Maybe it's a weathered sloop spotted in a quiet harbor, or a little daysailer that would fit on a trailer behind the truck. This Sailboat Oval holds that daydream in one clean shape: a small boat with its mainsail and jib up, hull resting on a few curls of calm water, waiting for its skipper to come down the dock with the morning coffee. Every boat is cut from metal by hand, then given a hammered black coat with a fine speckled grain that sparkles faintly in daylight. A slim cut line splits the two sails, a white band of open space runs along the hull, and an open oval ring frames the boat, its masthead touching the top of the ring. Small nails, double-sided tape, velcro, or magnets all work for hanging.
